Frequently Asked Questions

Enquire now
Can I have a 1:1 with Prof Steve Peters.

Although Prof Peters would love to help everyone who enquires for personal support, he no longer provides this service on a daily basis. That is why he created Chimp Management and has a team of personally trained mentors to help support you and your mind.

Is it possible to choose who I have as a mentor?

We endeavour to match your personal requirements and needs with a suitable member of our mentoring team. As part of our booking process, we ask you to complete a personal screening form. We use the information you supply to match you with your Mentor.

Do all mentors work with all problems?

All of our mentors are able to support in understanding and applying The Chimp Model to support your development. We may, at times, suggest a specific mentor to work with you as their experience may align with your personal circumstances and goals.

Are there evening and weekend sessions available?

Our Mentors work clinic slots which are based around office hours Monday to Friday 09:00am to 5:00pm. We do not provide sessions outside of these clinic hours.

Do you work with younger adults or children under 16?

Unfortunately, we no longer offer our one-to-one service to those under 18. We do however offer a range of different conferences on how you can apply The Chimp Model. To find out more, please visit our events page

If I’m not happy with my sessions, who do I call or write to?

We aim to offer a high level of service and support throughout the booking process and clinic sessions. Should you not be happy or have a suggestion as to how we can improve we would love to hear from you. – Please contact our Client Services Co-Ordinator - Paula Leslie

Is it possible to continue with long-term support?

As everyone is unique, we will be unable to ‘prescribe’ the number of clinic sessions you may require. Rest assured that we are here to support for as long or as little as you may need us.

Can I have my sessions face-to-face rather than virtual?

Unfortunately, due to the demand for appointments and to support as many people as possible we are unable to offer face to face appointments.

Could your team help me with an addiction to alcohol or drugs?

Sadly, our service cannot provide for the needs of someone who has an addiction to drugs or alcohol. This needs a specialist service team.

If you feel that you need help with drug or alcohol dependency, please contact your local GP or for more advice please visit the following NHS web pages:

Do you offer medication?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an acute medical service and cannot prescribe medication. If you feel that you require medication for your condition, we recommend consulting with your GP as soon as possible.

What supervision do your mentors receive?

All mentors have regular peer supervision and direct supervision from our CEO, Professor Steve Peters. Mentors also undertake formal CPD from both internal and external sources. We also undertake random case note assessments for quality assurance purposes.

Are any notes taken, available to me?

Yes, notes are taken after each clinic session to ensure we offer you the best possible support throughout your Chimp Management journey. We welcome any requests for you to review your notes at any stage and at any time.  In exceptional circumstances where mental health may come into play we may pass on your notes to a relevant third party without consent if we feel there is a detriment to the person's health.

What qualifications do your mentors have?

Our team of Psychological Skills Mentors are experienced in supporting individuals and businesses to implement The Chimp Model across a wide selection of disciplines. Including business, education, sport and health. All of our Mentors are employees of Chimp Management and Professor Steve Peters. Within the team, we have doctors, counsellors, psychologists and mentors. Their individual qualifications and background can be found by visiting our Meet the Team page.

Who sees the notes that are made and where are they kept?

Access to your clinic notes are limited to your mentor, Professor Steve Peters and yourself. They are stored within secure digital files and comply with all GDPR regulations. Copies of your notes can be requested by yourself at any time.

If you have any further questions please contact Paula Leslie or enquire now.
